The basic premise is to invite submissions from artists/companies from all over the country, with video excerpts of 5-10 minutes and a written proposition as the two mandatory components of the application. The foundation will then shortlist a maximum of 10 entrants from which the jury will select one as the winning entry. The winner will perform in an event in August 2016 so as to allow the jury to get a glimpse of some of the exciting work in contemporary dance, and also to build more promotional possibilities for the awards. The winning companies/pieces will receive a cash prize of Rs. 5 lakhs to help them in completing the production and will also be given the opportunity to be mentored by an international dance company. We also hope to explore the possibilities of getting some of the work presented abroad although this cannot be announced at this stage.
